Christmas Cracker Competition Winners

It has been an exciting couple of weeks seeing an amazing array of beautiful Christmas Crackers reach my email in box for the Christmas Cracker Competition. The competition was judged by a panel of 5 demonstrators and 3 stampers and believe me when I say it was a tough job! The winner is Chie Fullerton with her beautiful and unique pull apart cracker with a gorgeous Christmas Punch Art Garland in the center - how clever! Well done Chie and you get to choose $100 of product from the NEW Summer Mini Catalogue - please email me with your choices.

Second place is awarded to Keren Ham with her elegant Baja Breeze Cracker embellished with the beautiful 'So Swirly' wheel using white craft ink, heat and stick powder with dazzling diamonds glitter. Congratulations Keren - please email me with your choice of $50 of product from the NEW Summer Mini Catalogue.
Third prize goes to Kylie Matulis for her sweet punch art snowman cracker highlighted with dazzling diamonds! Kylie please email Bec your choice of $25 of product from the NEW Summer Mini Catalogue. The following entries are all highly commended and when you scan through them, you will see why the judging was difficult. Apologies if I have not included your entry and also that I cannot credit each entry. For those of you who play with blogging and photo shop etc, you will know that it takes hours to upload and create this type of entry. I have also learn that for the next competition, I must get you all to put 'Christmas Cracker' in the subject line of your email, so that I can do a quick search - it took huge amounts of time sifting emails to make sure I hadn't missed one. I hope you enjoy looking at all the beautiful work and please watch out for a competition in the NEW YEAR! The only clue I will give, is that it will have something to do with using 'Sale - a - Bration' Sets. So book your workshops early from mid January into February, so that you have your sets ready to use!

Brisbane Regional Demonstrator Training

The Paper Angels had a fabulous time at Brisbane Regionals, held on Saturday at the Hilton Brisbane. We made some terrific new projects, saw other Brisbane Demonstrators present their best workshop ideas and we also heard from Demonstrator Support in Sydney and the US. However, the best part of the day was just spending time together. Some of the Paper Angels somehow managed to make swaps, so they came home with lots of different samples for inspiration. We also did well in the prize patrol, with 5 of our group members taking home free stamp sets! Unfortunately I didn't get photos of everyone, but here is a sample for you to enjoy.

To explain a couple of these photos, Leonie asked Aaron if she could keep the card he demonstrated, which he did! Without my even knowing, our group of demonstrators organised a beautiful basket of flowers and card for me, which was incredibly lovely. I cant think of anything I'd rather do than spend time with all the amazing people in our group so it's hard to understand why I need thanking, however, I was extremely touched and am so very grateful for the lovely flowers and card, but more importantly for the fun, cohesiveness and love that we share. The wonderful Ursula made the floral arrangement and card and I will post some extra photos of these. If you ever need flowers, Ursula is the girl to see!

Here are the Paper Angels again having a great time a Ahmets Turkish Restaurant in Southbank. afterwards. What fun, although I would have to say it was a bit hot as being a Saturday night we were packed in like sardines! The food was lovely and we even were treated to a belly dance! Not everyone was able to come after training as they had to travel - we missed them and hopefully we can do another social activity in the new year.

'Bella Rose' Demonstrator Challenge

Each month, Paper Angel Demonstrators put their creative talents to the test and create projects based on a challenge theme. The challenge for the July Demonstrators meeting was to create a card based around the 'Bella Rose' Style Watch, as featured on pages 8 and 9 of the Idea Book and Catalogue. Demonstrators could use any products depicting this style or simply adhere to the colour scheme. Winter flus and a mid week meeting gave us slightly depleted numbers, however, this did not affect the fabulous ideas, now a highlight of our meetings.

Felicity created this gorgeous square 'patchwork' inspired card, featuring the 'Bella Rose' DSP and 'Always' Stamp Set. What a great way to use DSP remnants! Make this project easier by using the 1 1/4 inch square punch for perfect squares. I just love the new Supernova Glitter, which has been used very effectively to accent one of the patchwork squares as well as the belly of the bird - simply beautiful as obviously all our demonstrators thought because this card was voted the winner of the challenge.

Amanda has created some stunning challenge entries and her 3D card creation scored second place. Amanda cut out roses from the DSP and used the 'Best Yet' Hostess Set for the wording. Pretties Kit accents beautifully compliment this card.

Orrell was voted 3rd place with her lovely card, which when unfolded from the envelope, becomes a stand alone 'pyramid' style card. How clever!

Who says you need all the stamps to create a 'look'! Kate successfully created a 'Bella Rose' inspired card by using the 'Heartfelt Thanks' Stamp Set together with 'Bella Rose' DSP and matching inks. Thank you Kate!

Linda also used 'Heartfelt Thanks' along with 'Frames with a Flourish' and 'Bella Rose' Colours to create this very stylish card - thank you Linda

Bec created this very pretty card, inspired by the 'patchwork' look. I just love the Pretties Kit Flower dyed 'Riding Hood Red' with a half back pearl in the centre. Notice the lovely 'direct to paper' inking of the edges of the pink mat - thank you Bec

Robyn created this classically inspired card using 'Bella Rose' colours, background stamps and 'Frames with a Flourish' - this is a very useful stamp set! Love the rhinestone brads - thank you Robyn

Karen created this beautiful card using the 'Embrace Life' Stamp Set. With the 'Bella Rose' colours as a guide and white taffeta dyed pink, Karen has created a mini masterpiece - thank you Karen

Another card by Felicity, I am just busting to save up and buy this cute set. 'Build-a-Roo' is seriously sweet and who would think about popping a 'Bella Rose' flower into the roo's pouch - thank you Felicity

Another card by Orrell, the 'Bella Rose' theme is supported by DSP and the eyelet border punch as a corner punch - tip is to use the punch upside down - thank you Orrell

Wow - Orrell - you have been busy and thank you for sharing! 'Heartfelt Thanks' Stamp Set again showcased as a potential addition to the 'Bella Rose' Style Watch - thank you again Orrell

Another card by Felicity, I think of 'Laura Ashleigh' or 'Holly Hobby' when I look at this card. Simply pretty plus plus plus! Point to note here, is how great the outline image looks stamped in 'Basic Brown' - creating a softer look - thank you Felicity

Kate shows us how easy it is to create a beautiful card using minimal materials. I am a great fan of elegant and simple - how clever to use the 'Bella Rose' Colour Scheme on page 9 to choose the colours, stamped with the 'Eastern Blooms' Stamp Set - thank you Kate

Colleen created this truly lovely landscape card using 'Bella Rose' DSP, 'Dreams du Jour' and the 'Bella Rose' Colour Scheme - the scallop edge punch and scallop square punch match the look perfectly - thank you Colleen

Finally, Amanda has created another 3D card, which folds flat to post. This style of card is often referred to as a diorama card and might be hard to give away once you have made it! Thank you Amanda
