Paper Accent June Challenge

Ursula made a gorgeous floral accent using the new large heart punch and the tree trunk stamp from 'Trendy Trees' for the veins of the leaves - clever! Check out the terrific effect drizzling 'Crystal Effects' over the accent has. If you check out some of the store bought, ready made accents available in scrapbooking stores, you will find this drizzling effect is 'in' - difference is, we can do it ourselves!

Ursula has definitely been spending lots of time in her shed! If a tool was the winner of this challenge, it would be the scallop circle punch. So many of the entries demonstrated the versatility of this tool. Would you imagine that 3 scallop circles could be constructed into a complete 3D flower. Edging the flower with chocolate chip ink has further enhanced the dimensional aspect.

Felicity also saw the potential of the scallop circle punch when she created this pretty card using one of my favourite DSP's - Urban Garden. I love how Felicity has cut the scallop circle at every second scallop towards the centre.

Wow, look at how Felicity has used the eyelet border punch to create a large floral accent. Apparently, the cardstock was quite tricky to 'pleat' by hand due to its thickness, however, Felicity thinks it would be easier if you use DSP. Note the background of the title/label, where Felicity has randomly stamped the letters of the title when she has stamped off - I think this looks great and certainly adds more texture to the page.

This is a brilliant idea, where Kathy has used 'Punch Art' to create Sesame Street Characters as accents on her daughter Olivia's scrapbook page. Kathy also made a matching card design, which is featured later.

Kate created an absolutely elegant scrapbook page, featuring the 5 petal flower punch and Filigree Designer Brads. I have taken a gorgeous close up photo of the accents, so please do email me if you would like the close ups - they are spectacular.

Ellie created this really fresh happy card, featuring 'Punch Art' to create the ladybird. The wonderful scallop circle punch is star here too and I really love the effect of white on white to create extra texture whilst keeping the focus on the ladybird.

Gerane made this amazing 'Pin Wheel' inspired card, where the accents actually twist to open. It was really interesting to see how a variety of papercraft techniques such as tea bag folding and origami were incorporated to create paper accents.

Dianna made quite a few paper accents and I will have to say this was one of my favourites. How sweet is this pleated heart with half back pearl accent, matched perfectly with the eyelet border punch to edge the opening side of the card - just perfect.

Jen Fraser made this sweet accent edged with glitter with one of our wonderful clear rhinestones in the centre. I love the color combination Jen created here too!

Felicity demonstrated how to use the half back pearls from the 'Pretties Kit' to full advantage. Used as a central focus in the 'Pin Wheel' made from scallop squares, they also look great balancing the card at the bottom.

Felicity created an origami style accent with a designer brad in the centre to keep the accent closed.

Ursula Created this fresh card with cardstock and DSP remnants. Cleverly, Ursula has overstamped on the DSP, which is a great technique.

Belle we loved your rosette created with scallop circles and the pin from the 'Pretties Kit'. I am so inspired to go and try one of these - I bet you are all happy that you have a scallop circle punch! If you don't have one - sorry!

A terrific 'Punch Art' Paper Accent from Jen Fraser. Punch Art is a great way to use up your stash of remnants. Jen, I'm jealous of your hand drawing skills - I'm pretty sure I couldn't draw such a great face - well done.

A lovely card made by Dianna using folded DSP to create a star accent, finished with 'Flower Fusion' Felt Flowers.

Leonie made a beautifully decorated 'Post It Note' Holder, featuring the 5 petal punch. How beautiful do the colours look together.

Jen Fraser made another beautiful card featuring the 'One of a Kind' Stamp Set as the paper accent by stamping twice and building up the smaller image on top of the other.

Dianna created another variation on the scallop circle punch with a felt flower in the middle.

Dianna also created this striking card using 'Tea Bag Folding' to enhance the 'Mostly Flowers' Stamp Set. The half back pearl sits just perfectly as the highlight on this paper accent.

Ursula goes outside the box to create a unique paper accent using tearing to create the shape of the petals and flowers. Glitter and the tree 'stem' work wonderfully to accent this unique card.

Felicity made some beautiful pages and this is yet another great example of color coordination and a 3D paper accent, using pleating of paper strips to lift each accent. Again, close up shots are available on request.

Felicity certainly was being very creative when she used the surfboard stamp as petals on the flower - how clever!

A combination of punch and torn art are a perfect combo on this darling card made by Ursula.

Kathy's fantastic 'Punch Art' Card as mentioned earlier. My computer skills, or lack thereof, how somehow prevented me from rotating this image - sorry.

A paper clip accent, Ursula has used the scallop circle punch and lots and I mean lots of gorgeous glitter.
